Restriction digests of the clone give the following sizes (kb): KpnI--10.3; HindIII--8.2, 2.25; BglII--10.3. This is one of three lacZ reporter plasmids that lack UAS promoter elements (ATCC 87509, 87510 & 87513). They differ by polylinker sites. DNA fragments can be inserted into these plasmids to assay UAS (upstream activation site) activity. The vector was constructed by William Timberlake. |
