Restriction digests of the clone give the following sizes (kb): EcoRI--4.6, 2.7; HindIII--7.3; BamHI--3.7 (doublet); PstI--3.7, 2.2, 1.1, 0.4; SalI--7.3. pA11 (ATCC 61580/1) and pA33 (61582/3) detect adjacent NotI (500 and 375 kb, respectively) and SfiI (180 and 215 kb, respectively) fragments. This probe detects a 180 kb SfiI fragment and in lymphoblastoid cells, a 450 kb SalI fragment with no MluI sites, and a 275 SalI/NotI fragment. In fibroblastoid cells, it detects a 275 kb SalI fragment. The insert contains repetitive sequence. A PvuII fragment (about 0.45 kb) is "almost unique". |
