Among the restriction sites in the insert are the following: PstI (4), BglI (2), BamHI (2), NcoI (1), AatII (1), BstEII (1), and XbaI (1). Restriction digests of the clone give the following sizes (kb): EcoRI--5.2, 2.7; PstI--3.3, 2.9, 0.98, 0.48, 0.24; BamHI--5.4, 1.4, 0.87; SalI--7.9; BglI--5.3, 1.3, 1.08. There are 4 putative polyadenylation signals between nucleotides 12092 and 12141. There is also an AATAAT sequence at 11174 surrounded by an AT-rich region which could serve as a polyadenylation signal. Insert begins in intron 7 and extends about 2.2 kb 3' to the last exon, exon 9. The insert contains multiple Alu repeats and two purine-rich sequences. |
