Restriction digests of the clone give the following sizes (kb): BamHI/HindIII--4.4, 0.82; EcoRI--uncut; EcoRV--4.2, 0.9.
This construct expresses the gene in E. coli. The expressed protein contains 36 extra amino acids at the N-terminus which can be removed by enterokinase digestion. The protein is still functional without removing these extra amino acids.
