Restriction digests of the clone give the following sizes (kb): EcoRI/HindIII--2.6, 1.2; EcoRI--4.0; HindIII--4.0; BglII--4.0; BamHI--4.0. This sequence detects at least one "homologous" gene (location band 22q13.1). The insert is a 1.2 kb EcoRI (linker at 5' end)/BamHI fragment of clone 4A-2. It encodes amino acids 2-413 which includes 2 potential transmembrane regions and 6 N-glycosylation sites, all of the heavy chain and some of the light chain. The human placental mRNA is 2.6 kb in length. The probe can detect a 2.4 kb mRNA in mouse kidney, with a lower level in mouse liver. |
