Restriction digests of the clone give the following sizes (kb): BamHI--15.0, 9.0, 7.4, 5.0, 4.0, 2.1, 1.5, 0.66; EcoRI--20.0, 11.0, 7.0 (doublet), 1.4; HindIII--21.0, 7.4, 6.6, 5.8 (doublet); XbaI--21.0, 13.0, 5.2, 2.0, 1.9, 1.2, 0.87, 0.68; KpnI--16.0, 15.0, 4.2, 3.5, 2.5, 1.6, 1.5; SstI--21.0, 9.0, 5.8, 3.8, 1.8 (doublet), 1.6. D2S38 has been mapped to 2q on the human chromosome. The MspI and TaqI polymorphisms have a combined PIC value of 0.57 and a combined heterozygosity of 62%. The TaqI polymorphisms have a combined heterozygosity of 50%. Enzyme(s) not detecting polymorphism: BglII, HincII, EcoRI, RsaI (panel of 5 individuals). |
